On March 13, 2025, a serious fire struck our company, destroying the warehouse and part of the production area of our perimeter protection systems. It was a difficult moment that deeply marked the history of Gps Standard.

The first moments were inevitably marked by shock, but very soon the determination that defines our team emerged: stopping was not an option.

"We looked at each other and decided to roll up our sleeves," recalls Marco Capula, the company’s business strategist and son of the founder Pietro Capula.

From that day on, a complex journey began, one made of reorganization, daily commitment, and the determination to keep looking toward the future, a future still marked by uncertainty but also full of promise.

Over the past twelve months, Gps Standard has never completely stopped. We quickly reorganized spaces and activities in order to continue production of our perimeter products and maintain, as much as possible, our commitments to customers and partners. This allowed us to remain active in the market of perimeter protection system and continue the dialogue with those who have chosen our solutions for many years.

At the same time, our path of growth and innovation continued, bringing important results:

Despite the difficulties, the company has continued to invest in the future, maintaining its strong commitment to innovation in the field of security and perimeter protection systems.

One of the most important aspects of this year has been teamwork.

Today Gps Standard employs 21 people, a team of professionals who, during such a difficult time, demonstrated deep dedication to their work and a strong spirit of collaboration.

After the fire no employees were laid off, and only two people chose to pursue new professional paths. For us, preserving the company’s human capital was essential — a heritage built on skills, experience, cooperation, and mutual respect.

While business activities continued, assessments and inspections related to the fire damage also went on.

The causes of the fire have not yet been definitively clarified, and insurance procedures are still ongoing. In the meantime, we are also evaluating possible solutions for the future of our production facility.

Part of the existing structure may be recovered, but the company is currently analyzing several logistical options.

One thing, however, is certain: our future will remain in Valle d’Aosta, the region that welcomed us and where the company has grown over the past 50 years.

Looking back, this year has left us with a simple but fundamental lesson: even in the most difficult moments, it is possible to restart, rebuild, and keep moving forward.
