SUSTAINABILITY
GPS Standard Srl has always been committed to protecting the environment and minimizing the impact of its production activities. For this reason, over the years we have implemented numerous initiatives aimed at achieving eco-sustainability. Our contribution to safeguarding the ecosystem in which we operate is ensured by two environmental certifications: EMAS and ISO 14001:2015.
With EMAS registration (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), GPS Standard has achieved compliance with European Regulation No. 1221/2009. The company has adopted a more efficient management system for environmental aspects, based not only on compliance with legal limits but also on the continuous improvement of its ecological performance, with the direct involvement of employees.
ISO 14001 certification defines the environmental standards applied to the company’s management and production systems.
OUR ECO-INITIATIVES
IN PROGRESS

ALREADY COMPLETED
Thanks to a long-standing partnership with CVA Spa, GPS Standard uses only electricity sourced from renewable energy for its offices and manufacturing facilities. Choosing a local partner from the Aosta Valley, historically dedicated to clean energy production, is our way of taking care of our home.
With the renovation projects begun in 2008, GPS Standard upgraded its heating system by adopting a high-performance energy-saving solution. This innovative underfloor system heats over 2,200 m² of offices, production areas, and storage spaces, approximately 80% of the total area of our Arnad headquarters.
Through the Plastic Free project, managed in collaboration with ValMatic, GPS Standard has eliminated the use of plastic bottles and cups from its vending machines. This has reduced plastic consumption by 140 kg per year, saving 140 kg of oil and 2,500 liters of water, and cutting CO₂ emissions by 1.3 tonnes annually.
Thanks to the EcoBox project launched in 2008, all packaging used by GPS Standard is made from recycled materials, uses only water-based inks, and includes proper disposal instructions.
With the EcoOffice project, also launched in 2008, GPS Standard began investing in employee training to raise awareness of environmental issues. Download our EcoGuide for helpful tips not only for the workplace but also for everyday life at home.
When selecting our suppliers, we apply the same sustainability criteria used in our production sites. For our perimeter and intrusion detection product lines, our main suppliers of electronic boards and plastic components are all located within a 30 km radius of our headquarters—resulting in products that are 100% Made in Italy and virtually zero-kilometer.
