GPS Standard has always cared about the environment and the impact that its production activity has on it. Precisely for this reason, over the years, the company has undertaken numerous initiatives to achieve eco-sustainability. Our social commitment in safeguarding the ecosystem in which we operate is guaranteed through two different environmental certifications: EMAS and ISO 14001: 2015.

With the EMAS certification (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) GPS Standard has obtained compliance according to the provisions of the European Regulation n.1221 / 2009. The company has a more rational management of environmental aspects based not only on compliance with legal limits, but also on the continuous improvement of its ecological performance together with the direct involvement of employees.

The ISO 14001 certification defines the environmental standards applied to the company's management and production systems.

OUR ECO-INITIATIVES

Thanks to a decades-long supply relationship with CVA Spa, in its offices and factories, GPS Standard uses only electricity from renewable sources. The choice of a partner based on the Valle d'Aosta region that has always provided clean energy is our way of taking care of our home.

With renovations started in 2008, GPS Standard converted its heating system to take advantage of a high performance energy saving management system. This innovative state-of-the-art underfloor system allows you to heat over 2,200sqm of offices and premises used for the production and storage of products, equal to approximately 80% of the total area of our Arnad headquarters.

Thanks to the Plastic Free project, managed in collaboration with ValMatic, GPS Standard has been able to eliminate the use of plastic bottles and cups from its vending machines, with a reduction of 140 kg of plastic per year for the production of which will save the environment the use of 140 kg of oil and 2,500 liters of water and 1.3 tons of CO2 per year.

Thanks to the EcoBox project, launched in 2008, all the packaging used by GPS Standard is made from recycled material, using only water-based paints and indicating the correct disposal of the same.

In choosing our suppliers, we apply the same sustainability criteria that we adopt in our production sites. For the line of our perimeter and anti-intrusion products, in fact, the main suppliers of electronic boards and plastic components are based within a radius of 30KM from our headquarters, for 100% Made in Italy products and practically KM0!
