MILES uses a fibre optic cable that, thanks to interferometric technology, detects any intrusion attempt (climbing, cutting, breaking through, sabotage, suspicious movements). The system requires no field power and is immune to electromagnetic interference and adverse environmental conditions, ensuring reliable protection even over very long distances (up to 4 km for fences and up to 25 km for pipelines). The alarm precisely identifies the intrusion zone with a tolerance of just a few meters, allowing modular and scalable use on any type of infrastructure.
Thanks to optical interferometry technology, MILES can detect with extreme accuracy any intrusion attempt, such as climbing, cutting, or breaking through a fence, as well as sabotage attempts or the approach of an intruder in underground configurations.
The system uses a 9/125 single-mode fiber optic cable that, when subjected to mechanical stress, pressure, vibration, or movement, changes its light transmission characteristics. These variations are immediately interpreted as potential threats, generating a timely and highly reliable alarm.
